ELECTION NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, as prescribed by Chapter 699 of the Laws of New York, 1947, as amended, that the Annual Meeting for the election of Commissioners of the Fishers Island Ferry District will be held on Tuesday, the 10th Day of August 2021 at the Fishers Island Community Center, Fishers Island, New York from 2:00 – 6:00 PM for the purpose of electing two Commissioners as follows:
ONE COMMISSIONER TO FILL A SEAT FOR A TERM OF FIVE (5) YEARS.
ONE COMMISSIONER TO FILL A SEAT FOR A TERM OF FOUR (4) YEARS.
Candidates must complete a Nominating Petition which can be found at the business office or on this website. The Nominating Petition is due Friday, July 23, 2021; 12:00 noon.
The polls will remain open between the hours of 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Electors of the District qualified to vote for Town Officers of the Town of Southold at the preceding Town Election AND certain owners of the real property situated within the Fishers Island Ferry District assessed upon the last preceding town assessment roll shall be eligible to vote. Further information on voting qualifications is available at the Fishers Island Ferry District business office.

THE CANDIDATE IS A RESIDENT WHO IS QUALIFIED TO VOTE FOR TOWN OFFICERS OF THE TOWN OF SOUTHOLD, NEW YORK, AND OWN REAL PROPERTY SITUATED WITHIN THE FISHERS ISLAND FERRY DISTRICT ASSESSED UPON THE LAST PRECEDING TOWN ASSESSMENT ROLL.
